Joseph Dagsworthy, Cape Henlopen Lighthouse Keeper 1869-1909
In 1869 Dagworthy Joseph became Keeper of the Cape Henlopen Lighthouse. He was there for the next 40 years. Over that time changes came to Lewes, the Lighthouse and the Joseph family as he raised 7 children on the dunes of Cape Henlopen.
Bill Hicks is the Historic Campus Coordinator and Lead Interpreter for the Lewes Historical Society. Bill dresses in period clothing to tell us stories of different historic personalities.
This program coincides with the current exhibit on the Cape Henlopen Lighthouse on the second floor of the museum. While this program is free your donations help to support our ongoing programs. Seating will be limited so click below to register.
The Rehoboth Beach Museum is located at 511 Rehoboth Avenue and the museum is handicap accessible.
