Spunky Women Walking Tour 2025

Spunky Women Walking Tour 2025 Women’s history is still a growing venture but Rehoboth Beach has plenty to offer. Our town would not be the same without them. Want to learn more about the women who shaped our community? Come out this summer to one of Jean Brolund’s Spunky Women Walking Tours to learn more and enjoy some time in the sunshine! The Spunky Women of Rehoboth Tour begins at 9:00 am at the Village Improvement Association parking lot located next to the Henlopen, the boardwalk and Grenoble Place. Wear comfortable shoes, and bring a bottle of water. We’ll be visiting the clubhouse and strolling through town highlighting the women of Rehoboth who made the town a “more pleasant place” to live and vacation. Our stroll will include the town history and improvements, the founding of the Rehoboth Art league, the Rehoboth Library, the Mosquito Matron, the children’s fishing pier, and Irene Dupont’s plans for Lake Gerar. The tour continues with stories (with photos) about healthcare, real estate, businesswomen and entrepreneurs, suffragettes, restaurateurs, philanthropists, from beautification to comfort stations. Your guides will end the tour at the Anna Hazzard House on Christian Street. Admission for the walking tours are $10. The first tour is May 12, then they continue on June 23rd, July 14th, August 4th, September 22nd, and finally October 6th. The museum is located at 511 Rehoboth Avenue. Museum hours starting March 1st are Friday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission to the museum is by donation. Members enjoy special benefits.
