We Come to Catastrophe!
The Story of the Faithful Steward

In the early hours of September 1, 1785 the Faithful Steward, a vessel headed for Philadelphia, sunk off the coast of Southern Delaware. With close to 250 passengers aboard, more than half perished in the rough waves within sight of the beach.

Historic character interpreter and Director of Education at The Lewes Historical Society, Marcos Salaverria, will relate the tragedy of this wreck through a historic reading of a first-hand account, in the dress and voice of Mr. McEntire, a survivor.

Join us Thursday, October 28 at 7:00 p.m. in the Grove Park pavilion for an early kick-off to the Sea Witch Weekend. Cider and cookies will be available, and there will be artifacts from the wreck A $10 donation is requested. Reservations are required.
Call (302) 227-7310 to reserve a place.

Grove Park is right near the museum and the Chamber of Commerce Visitor's Center at 511 Rehoboth Avenue.
